Teaching The Correct Passing Technique - Football

When we refer to passing in our Blueprint Football Guide, the correct technique we would like to encourage is detailed below.

When your child is passing the ball, we want them to use the inside part of their foot. Line up their non kicking foot with the target they are trying to kick towards, and encourage them to sweep their foot through the ball. They must open their hips to allow for the inside of their foot to access the ball. Your child's weight must be on their non kicking foot when they make contact with the ball and remember to make sure their aeroplane wings are out for balance!

When your child is passing and receiving, try to follow these three steps; ‘Control, Point, Pass’. Control meaning getting the ball to stop by their feet, Point, meaning point your child's body and non kicking foot towards the intended target and Pass meaning, to sweep their foot towards the ball and pass with the inside part of their foot.
